Sacraments:
The Holy Mysteries, Blessings, Prayer Request and Mass Intentions The holy mysteries (called sacraments in many Christian traditions) are any part or member of God's creation that opens us up to God in Christ Jesus, that graces us into the life of Christ. From the earliest Church we have found that certain moments and gestures hold special intensity in revealing God in Christ. Some churches name two and others more sacraments. The Orthodox-Catholic Church of America honors many sacraments, recognizing the special place of the holy mysteries described now. The following is designed to help you with obtaining information on receiving the Holy Mysteries, a special blessing from our ministry, a prayer requests or special intention Mass offered at the Divine Mercy Outreach Ministry chapel. We are all God's children Holy Baptism holds the first place among the sacraments, because it is the door of the spiritual life; for by it we are made members of Christ and incorporated with the Chruch. And since through the first man death entered into all, unless we be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, we can not enter into the kingdom of Heaven, as Truth Himself has told us. The matter of this sacrament is true and natural water; and it is indifferent whether it be cold or hot. The form is: I baptize thee in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. We do not, however, deny that the words: Let this servant of Christ be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost; or: This person is baptized by my hands in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, constitute true baptism; because since the principal cause from which baptism has its efficacy is the Holy Trinity, and the instrumental cause is the minister who confers the sacrament exteriorly, then if the act exercised by the minister be expressed, together with the invocation of the Holy Trinity, the sacrament is perfected. Contact Fr. Michael to make and appointment to have your child baptized in the waters of the Holy Spirit. Confession/Reconciliation In fact, every believer is empowered to be a reconciler, a forgiver for the Lord. The ministry of a priest or bishop in witnessing a penitent's conversion of heart spoken before a holy icon with hand placed on the Holy Scriptures is an intense way in which the lifeblood of the Redeemer still washes us clean, renews our baptismal purity. The minister both listens and speaks as one called by the Church to present God's saving and healing Word and the touch of the Good Shepherd. Holy Matrimony We wish you much peace and joy as you take the first step in your new life together. Divine Mercy Outreach Ministry has a very open and eclectic view on performing wedding services. In other words, you have a lot of say in the design and liturgy of the service. Each service is individually crafted accord-ing to your unique stories, traditions, faith background, preferences, and views. Our goal is to provide you and your family and friends with a service that meets your needs. Contact Fr. Michael about the planning of your ceremony. Divine Mercy Outreach Ministry has priests always available to officiate and give you a ceremony that you will remember for a lifetime. Holy Eucharist The Holy Eucharist is the oldest experience of Christian Worship as well as the most distinctive. Eucharist comes from the Greek word which means thanksgiving. In a particular sense, the word describes the most important form of the Church's attitude toward all of life. The origin of the Eucharist is traced to the Last Supper at which Christ instructed His disciples to offer bread and wine in His memory. The Eucharist is the most distinctive event of Catholic worship because in it the Church gathers to remember and celebrate the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Christ and, thereby, to participate in the mystery of Salvation. The Divine Mercy Outreach Ministry will bring the most Holy and Blessed Sacrament to you are your home. Contact Fr. Michael at Divine Mercy Outreach Ministry for more information on Eucharistic distribution to the homebound. Anointing of the Sick The anointing of the sick is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness, especially near the time of death. It is most likely one of the last sacraments one will receive. A sacrament is an outward sign established by Jesus Christ to confer inward grace. In more basic terms, it is a rite that is performed to convey God’s grace to the recipient, through the power of the Holy Spirit. The anointing of the sick conveys several graces and imparts gifts of strengthening in the Holy Spirit against anxiety, discouragement, and temptation, and conveys peace and fortitude. Our missionaries are always available to help you during these times of dispair and are here to help you through these moments. House Blessings Is your home a place of divine peace and blessing? Do you want the Lord's blessing upon your home and your life there? Many people ask to have their homes cleansed and blessed with prayer, set aside as God's holy ground, and this is very good! Our ministry is happy to come to your home when you are ready and claim God's blessing with you! Before we come to bless your home, we encourage you to take some time with the other people who live in you rhome to prepare your home and lives to serve God. Too often we want Jesus to bless us, but we haven't let Jesus direct us. We encourage you and your family to spend time preparing each room in your house. Focus on dedicating not only the physical building, but the thoughts and feelings, words and deeds, and objects brought into and used in your home. Pray about the items in each room and the room itself and the things that happen there. Do all of the items and events honor God? If we want God to work in our lives we must clean house spiritually and make room for Jesus. Then your house blessing will be more than a ceremony trying to "bless our mess," or a rubber stamp on the old way you lived, but a declaration of house and home, a setting apart as holy, your residence and your LIVES in God's kingdom. Prayer Requests and Mass Intentions Your special prayer request will be included in the daily prayers and intentions of our prayer by our missionaries. Add an ill or deceased friend or family member to the weekly prayers of the Faithful. They will be remembered during Mass for the first week and included in our prayer chain for a month. Request a specific Mass be said for either a special intention or in memory of a person. A donation of $15.00 is requested for each Mass intention. A Special Intention or Spiritual Bouquet Mass Card will be sent to you or to the person for whom the Mass is being offered. All we need is a 'mail to' address from you. If mailing your payment to us, please make checks payable to St. Faustina Catholic Community and attach a note with your request information. You can also pay using PayPal by clicking on the "Buy Now" button below. Be sure to include the name of the person, their address and the date you would like the Mass to be offered. A Mass card will be sent to them in your behalf. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your personal intention in our Church. The Spiritual Benefits of the Mass are limitless and sadly many parishes have long waiting lists, cannot honor specific days. Our small church needs Mass intentions for all Masses. Our parishioners request Masses, but never enough to fill our schedule. Masses are often requested for the deceased. Masses are also often requested for the living as well. Are you aware of friends with special needs? Sickness? Addition, or healing following surgery? Many request birthday remembrances as well. What a unique gift. These are but a few suggestions only.
